I have suffered the exact same experience with
Ticketsmyway. I submitted an order (in my case, tickets for a Florida concert), had my credit card debited for the full amount, received a phone call several days later from ticketsmyway advising that they were unable to obtain the tickets and advising that a refund would be issued. When no refund appeared and my monthly statement closed out, I contacted
American Express and ticketsmayway. After numerous phone calls (most to a voicemail box), my account was finally credited back for the undelivered tickets. Several months later the fun began. First threatening letters delivered by
fedex claiming
ticketsmyway would file a
law suit in Nevada for full amount of the tickets (which they cancelled) and for additional "penalties" unless I paid the full
ticket price plus the penalties. Then a series of hostile,
harrassing phone calls begin, followed by follow-up emails - where in "settlement" they offer to lower their demand to $125 - for alleged wrongful contact with a
credit card company seeking a refund. They appear to use the same $125 scam with everyone.
Credit card holders are obligated to timely advise the issuer of a disputed charge to preserve his/her rights to dispute a charge". Ticketsmayway plays "gotcha"/. They cancel, they don't refund and when you advise your credit card company, they hit you with the penalty demand - citing the
contractual provisions which they claim prohibits you from contacting a
credit card company to process the refund?. They then threaten to sue you in Nevada and to notify the national credit rating agencies of your "
delinquency"/. The first lesson here is not to do business with them'. The next is for local
Nevada residents to defend against them in Nevada court,. The final lesson is to fight back/. Contact the
attorneys general of Nevada (and your local state) and advise them of how
ticketsmyway does business,. And pass the word along about this company. 12965f4
